“Stasis” is the title track from an eponymous EP Stooshinoff released under the name ‘Living Room’ back in 2014. The artist, having now rebranded, is reviving this work, pulled from the internet long ago. Recorded at the tender age of 19, Stasis is a coming of age: it is the artist’s attempt to make sense of a confusing time, and to understand his place in a family. The work itself is autobiographical, with soundscapes that recall the literal sounds of the artist’s experiences with ayahuasca in the Peruvian Amazon, field recordings of his family together after a funeral, and artwork of himself, and his older brother. The original release featured a full-length companion video made by Stooshinoff’s long-time collaborator Zachary Knuttila, with Weird Canada calling the pair a “…resplendent multisensory tapestry.”

A Russian Doukhobor originally from the Canadian Prairies, Stooshinoff relocated to Montréal in 2015, where he earned a degree in philosophy and electroacoustics.
